Acupuncture
Coming from the Traditional Chinese Medicine healthcare system, acupuncture is a common modality used to create a neuroendocrine response. Your neuroendocrine system refers to the aspects of the brain and body that regulate chemicals responsible for hormone balance, mood, immune strength, digestive health, stress, inflammation, and more. Acupuncture is the use of hair-thin, stainless steel needles or pins that are inserted into the body along specific channels. The channels are associated with internal organs like the liver, spleen, and heart, and with specific tissues like blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, and fascia. The needles interact with the flow through these channels, and stimulate an electrochemical change which affects the physiology of the associated organs and tissues.
Acupuncture alone has been shown to have efficacious results in treating conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, insomnia, pain, gas and bloating, IBS, Crohn’s disease, skin conditions, sciatica, arthritis, headaches, menstrual issues, weight gain/loss, and addictions.
Our acupuncturist has extensive training in Nutrition & Diet Therapy, Moxibustion, Cupping, and Acupuncture. As a holistic practice, Traditional Chinese Medicine encompasses all of these modalities in each session, according to the client’s individual health goals and needs.
